The mighty red N blues were up against it yesterday with an experienced Edenbridge team having a 3 hour pre match warm up!
The weather conditions were perfect for rugby and the lads knee the challenge they were up against
This however did not stop Jordan 'butterfingers' Ambrose scoring an excellent try within the first 10 mins, giving it a little dink then picking up the bouncing ball to go over the line
'Howling Mad' Harry Murley also scored a good try early on, and as his mummy was on the side line the lads let him score again!
It was then to be another 50 mins of penalties, free kicks and scrums until there would be another try, whilst 20points down the Edenbridge stand off decided to kick for 3 points which half brought them back into the game raising their dampened spirits.
The scrums were brutal and an even contest throughout the game, the engine horses in the 2nd Row Pat 'Butcher' Broadhurst and Jamie 'Nozza' Claringbold pumped their legs driving the scrum forward!
The flankers Leighton 'Satan' Docherty & Linford 'semi-detached' House were around the park all game long, with Chris 'Sick Note' Frost on the side line giving the lads guidance and wisdom
In the backs Stone Cole Steve Richards played well for a veteran, showing the lads who's boss and still commanding both forwards and backs
Gareth 'g-Master' Bramwell played a great game, despite a few dropped balls this lad showed us again he's in a different class but it's red and blue blood that runs through his veins
Kyle 'calm down' Bennets made some great runs and put in some crunching tackles until he was given a yellow for sucking to much bitty and half time
Sam 'sparrow legs' Frost scores a great try from our own 22, this lad is like Need For Speed 2 on PlayStation
Alun 'Bart' Owen dusted off his boots to play for the red n blues again, this bloke is a game changer and proved his worth in the 2nd half!!
Due to holidays, birthdays, Christmas shopping, Easter shopping, weddings, baby showers, the DFS weekend sofa sale (yeah, tell about it..)
The front row were brought in from the 2nd Team Babemagnets with Phil 'big show' Mellin loose head, Steve 'frog eyes' Roberts hooking and young Tommy 'steam train' Johnstone tight head, these lads chewed more ears and took more hits than a clay pigeon, but they put their bodies on the line in the name of Snowdown Colliery Welfare RFC
