A great start!

Snowdown Colliery Rfc 1st in their first Kent 1 game for over 20 years maintained their unbeaten run at home for over two years with a controlled win over last year's Kent 2 winners by 14-3. The rednblues, despite starting off a bit rusty, had most of the possession and territory, however they failed to capitalise on many occasions near the Sittingbourne try line. Snowdown went ahead with a Cary Jackson try but Sittingbourne responded with a penalty. 7-3 at half time, the mighty rednblues went further ahead in the 2nd half with a try under the posts by Harry Murley. To be fair, Snowdown defended well and Sittingbourne never looked liked scoring a try. Snowdown's scrummaging was excellent which set the tone for the game. Sub, Liam 'Saggy Balls' Croxon, came out of the wilderness after two years away, replacing the injured Nozza Jamie Claringbold and had an excellent game. Every Snowdown player stood up to the test today and did not disappoint. These guys have set the standard for every budding player who wants to play for Snowdown. Next week the 1st entertain Hastings and Bexhill RFC whilst the 2nds kick off their season with a tough away game to Ash RFC both 3pm kick off.
