Solihull Blossomfield Ladies 2s – 1, Nuneaton Ladies 1s – 3
Solihull Blossomfield Ladies' 2s hosted Nuneaton Ladies 1st team at home on Saturday. Bloss started slowly having introduced a new formation but despite this stated to play some good hockey as the half progressed. Unfortunately, against the run of play a deflected own goal saw Nuneaton take the lead, shortly followed by a second goal.
Going in to the second half Bloss behind they regrouped and started to play more passing hockey and put pressure on the Nuneaton defence. Bloss won a penalty corner and with a straight strike goal from captain Kat Vaughan from the top of the D brought Bloss back in to the game at 1-2.
The second half continued with some good play and saw both teams battling hard but with Bloss going close to equalising at one end it was Nuneaton who took a chance on the break to take the final score to 1-3. Although disappointed with the final score, Bloss have taken from the game their great team spirit, continued belief in their process and new formation and are ready to build on this for next week’s fixture.
