This season Community Moors have decided to use our matchdays in order to support the wider community and to reach out and help families in need. We are pleased to announce a new campaign partnership with Helping Hands.
Helping Hands-Renewal is a food bank that serves the whole borough of Solihull. Each week from Monday through to Thursday, food parcels and toiletries are delivered to homes and a variety of organisations. The food parcels provide three days of emergency food provision for each individual and family in crisis. Already this year, Helping Hands has given out over 1000 food parcels.
Yvonne Glover at Renewal Family Centre states: “We are able to carry out this ministry because of the generosity of people who support Helping Hands by donating food and toiletries. We are so grateful for all of the donations that we receive. Thank you to all at Solihull Moors for contributing to the work of Helping Hands. The food that you collect on matchdays will help to make a difference the lives of so many people in their time of need.”
Our food collections will take place at home games. We are asking supporters to bring along an item from the list and place in the helping hands bins that will be dotted around the stadium. In addition, community staff will also be there to assist you on the day.
Below is a list of items that you can donate to Helping Hands:
Tinned meat- corned beef, stews, casseroles, curries
Tinned rice pudding
Toiletries - toothpaste, shower gel, deodorant
The food collections will take place from Saturday 17th August from 2pm onwards.
Any donations no matter how big or small will make a difference to someone.
