Stenson stunner helps Moors win...
Solihull Moors made it back-to-back wins at the SportNation.Bet Stadium after beating Aldershot Town 2-1.
Goals from Paul McCallum and Matt Stenson were enough to preserve the Moors’ unbeaten start to the season, despite a late consolation from Ethan Chislett.
The visitors started brightly, and nearly took a third minute lead through Berkeley-Agyepong, but his solo run into the area was stopped by Ryan Boot.
The first chance for the Moors fell to Kyle Storer – Terry Hawkridge’s corner found its way to the skipper who fired an effort into the palms of Mitch Walker.
Jamey Osborne, playing his 100th game for Solihull, nearly fired the hosts into a seventh minute lead, but his effort deflected just wide of the post. Moments later, McCallum hoisted the ball across the area into the path of Jamie Reckord, but Walker was able to smother his effort.
Mullings looked to make things happen for the visitors, but after holding the ball up well, he was unable to divert his effort on target.
Despite a relatively slow start to the game, the Moors were awarded a penalty after 21 minutes. Hawkridge started a flowing move which saw McCallum brought down in the six-yard box, and referee Aaron Jackson pointed to the spot.
Hawkridge, who scored a penalty against Torquay United on Tuesday night, saw his effort kept out by the legs of Walker.
The home side were given a chance of redemption after 39 minutes as the referee awarded a second penalty – this time for a foul on Hawkridge as he looked to turn inside the area. McCallum took responsibility this time and fired home the penalty to the keeper’s right to give the Moors a 1-0 lead going into half time.

With the wind hindering both sides, the Moors tried to piece together another opportunity after 70 minutes. Osborne’s long range effort was beaten away by Walker.
The Moors found the crucial second goal after 76 minutes through Stenson. The second half substitute hit a ferocious shot from 30 yards out and it nestled into the bottom corner past Walker.
Boot was called into action after 82 minutes after Panayiotou made a threatening run into the box, but after cutting onto his right foot, the Moors number one was able to make a routine save.
The visitors ensured a nervy finale as Chislett nodded the ball in from close range after 87 minutes, but Tim Flowers’ side held on to gain all three points.
