Club History


Formed in 2003 by current Chairman Chris Richards and then commercial manager Darren Horne, the Vikings were predominantly made up of Royal Marines Rugby League players based in Taunton and Exeter. The early team were bolstered with local rugby union players keen to try the thirteen man code and who have never looked back.

Today a dedicated committee drive a rapidly expanding and ambitious club offering open age Rugby League in Somerset. The recent move to Weston-super-Mare is part of Vikings long term plan to expand Rugby League in to the union heartland.
Playing in the West of England league Vikings come up against teams from Bath, Swindon, Gloucester, Cheltenham and Cinderford.
Training starts in March and the season runs from May until August.
