Southam as in previous weeks started the game very well and were soon rewarded with a penalty, but as in previous weeks we had no recognised kicker and the chance went begging, albeit Southam were playing against the weather conditions. It wasn't long though before redditch started to get themselves involved and apart from some sloppy handling could have gained points, however Southams defence was excellent all game and the pressure from this certainly forced errors from Redditch. Redditch tried every thing and were finally rewarded just before half time with a fine try from their pacy winger, this went unconverted. Southams heads dropped a little now and Redditch again capitalised with another good try in the first half injury time bringing the half time score to 10-0 in Redditch's favour.
Afew words were said amongst the players at half time as this is the third week running points are conceded at the same time in the match, which is habit that should changed quickly, the halftime words certainly took effect, with Southam playing the kind of rugby expected of them and apart from some little issues that can be worked on, they were unlucky not to score more points and result in a win. All southam could muster though was a fine penalty from replacement Jago Toner and a try at the death scored by Tom Wright, unfortunatley the conversion was just wide otherwise it would have been a draw. Southam have got to continue working hard in these games and their just rewards will come.
