This was a game Southam had earmarked for a victory and this came but not before a hell of a fight from Edwardians. Edwardians who were fighting for survival gave a spirited display in this game which unfortunatelly ended up with them being relegated, however the question has to be asked had they of played like that all season would they be where they were from a Southam point of view we don't think so. Southam were under the pressure from Edwardians all game and in the first half they soon fell behind to a try and penalty. Southam however did respond with 2 good trys through winger Chris Orfeur and Fly half Pete Burnell and this making the half time score 10-8 in southams favour.
The second half again an even contest saw Edwardians score a penalty now putting there nose in front by a point and with the game into its final few minutes the points looked there's however Southam were awarded a penalty and from a good set piece they produced good ball for Peter Bicknell to score a great try and take the points.
