With 13 players it was always going to be a tough ask to win at Reading.
Glenn Tyreman (Head Coach)
With over 20 players unavailable this weekend due to work, holidays and other commitments the Spitfires travelled with only 13 players. The game as a contest was over in the first 20 minutes as Reading (as expected) raced out to a 18-0 lead. The Spitfires with no replacements soon tired and Reading took advantage of this running in more try's to make the half time score 52-0. The Spitfires played some nice stuff as times and managed to cross out wide when hooker Charlie Price sneaked over from close range after some good set construction from the visitors. The final score was 84-4 to the home side who now play Portsmouth next weekend. The Spitfires still hold onto third spot and face unbeaten Oxford next weekend at Five Acres.
