Spitfires get off to a bad start in 2017.

It's a sad day for the club as we fail to play for the first time in 10 seasons.
- Andy Beal (Club Chairman)

Spitfires away trip to Oxford has been cancelled due to only 7 players been available. Private functions, family commitments and a large injury list put paid to any hopes of travelling today.

Head Coach Tyreman is not at all happy about the situation, especially in terms of players letting the club know they could not play. This is the first game the club has cancelled in it's 10 year history.

The club is now entering new territories as Coach Tyreman may well leave this week, however senior players have ensured him this is just a blip and normal service will resume next weekend with a home derby game against Portsmouth.

Oxford have agreed to postpone the game for now and both clubs will be sorting out a new date in the future.
