CHUDLEIGH 2nd XI defeated their South Devon counterparts by 35 runs in the F West derby clash at Marsh Road.
Mark Solway (61) and Andy Robinson (56) were the men of the moment for Chudleigh with a stand of 108 in a total of 198 for eight. Mark Heather chipped in with a run-a-ball 36.
South Devon bowlers Mike Smith (1-16), Mark Andrews (2-8) and Otty Yip (1-29) were hard to get away, but wickets proved difficult to come by in the first half.
Chudleigh seamer Ben Cowling (3-19) got into the South Devon batters early on and the middle order could not make-up the lost ground.
Smith (24), Dave Lear (27) and Yip (29no) had the only scores of note in South Devon’s reply of 163 for nine.
