The Swannies took advantage of the AFL Ireland Women's inaugural City Blitz in St. Pats, DCU to get down to the grounds and use the facilities for a practice match against DCU's recently formed AFL team.

With a mix of students and Swans, two teams battled it out to put into practice their pre-season training efforts. Two, twenty minute halves saw the score line see-saw back and forth until we lost count of goals and behinds! More importantly, our new blokes got a taste of game scenarios and gave us slightly more experienced blokes a chance to run out the creases. All in all, it was a great effort and gave us an opportunity to learn some valuable lessons before Round 1, 27th April at Bushy Park against the Belfast Redbacks.

Special mention to Darragh for taking mark of the match; a diving catch saw him go head over wing, leaving a head-sized divot in the turf and a set shot on goal!!!
