Brentwood 4th XI - 0
Southend & Benfleet 2nd XI - 2 (Chloe King, Jo Hall)
S&B's 2s travelled to Brentwood for a late match against their 4th XI. S&B always seem to find Brentwood a hard side to beat, and this week was going the same way as, despite the majority of possession, they struggled to score. S&B were awarded several short corners which came agonisingly close to a goal, Claire King hitting the post, but the score went into half time 0-0.
In the second half Brentwood seemed to tire and S&B stepped up a notch. Player of the match Felicity Galbally kept on running the ball up from midfield and creating chances, and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. Midfielder Louise Marsack had another strong game, giving the hosts a headache and then setting up the first goal with a strike from the edge of the D which Chloe King skilfully directed in from the post to finally break the deadlock. Brentwood had their chances but were dealt with calmly by the S&B defence: Michelle Arnold organised the team on any defensive moves, and Charley Edwards stepped in once again as goalkeeper. Jo Chesters came close to doubling the goal tally but it was Jo Hall who made it 2-0 with a strike from the edge of the D.
