Southend & Benfleet 2nd XI - 11 (Naomi Barker - 5, Claire King - 2, Ellen Taylor - 2, Louise Marsack - 1, Natasha Cheeseman - 1)
Old Southendian 2nd XI - 1

The Super 2s have missed out on promotion this year but finished on a high with an 11-1 thrashing in a local derby against Old Southendians (OS). The hosts were once again without a keeper but that did not matter as they spent most of the time camped out in the OS half. Player of the match Naomi Barker got an impressive five goals - a couple from short corners and the rest from open play, all blasted in, in her trademark style. Midfielder Louise Marsack left it late to score her first goal of the season when she ran the ball up in to the top of the D, found herself in some space. Ellen Taylor's first goal was a rebound from a short corner, and her second one a shot after she ran in from midfield and calmly slotted away. Claire King scored her brace from her favourite left post position and Natasha Cheesemen ran round almost the entire OS defence before popping her goal away. Despite the scoreline suggesting otherwise, the visiting keeper had a fantastic game, pulling off some athletic saves and blocking countless others - the result could have been double what it was. OS did get one back on a break where they took advantage of the keeperless goal. They had a couple of short corners too but the fearless S&B defence of Anne Johnson, Nicola Coleman, Louise Marsack, Kerry Payton and kicking back Michelle Arnold kept them out.

The 2s finish fourth in division 3.
