Tonking back with a brace

The 3s had a tough match this week. They were quick to score in the first 5 minutes with Lesley Tonking smashing it into the goal after her trip to New Zealand. The girls were feeling confident but were quickly challenged by Maldon who managed to score back two goals.

At half time the girls were not discouraged. Another goal was conceded and it lit a fire underneath the team. Two short corners led to Lesley Tonking and Mia Edwards both scoring, levelling the opponents to 3-3. Maldon were quick to come back with another goal but Nicole Rutter didn’t let that last long, within the last 4 minutes she ran the ball up the wing and slipped it over a players stick to bring the girls level to 4-4.

Nicole Rutter won player of the match, her runs up the wing helped get the ball in the D and led to the team coming back after being 3-1 down.
