The 3’s won 8-2 against top of the league Brentwood.
Although it looked like it was going to be a miserable day the sun was shining for the 3’s when they started on pitch. Kirsty Durban was playing for the 3’s this week in midfield and her speed really helped bring play up the pitch. Distribution amongst the midfield was much better too, with Courtney Stone and Lucy Redfern passing up the wing to send the ball up to forwards Claire King and top goal scorer for this match Lesley Tonking.
As play was so high up the pitch it gave Brentwood some good opportunities to score, keeper Fran Bates made a good effort to defend but unfortunately S&B conceded two goals. Nevertheless, the girls still trounced Brentwood, with Claire King scoring one goal, Durban 3 and Tonking 4.
Lucy Redfern won player of the match this week and will get to keep the trophy over lockdown! She made her way into good spaces during the match and was ready to receive the ball to help the goal fest.
