Having recently played for Nambour Yandina United FC in the Sunshine Coast Premier League in Australia is now ready to play in the National League.

Josh Sansucie is looking to continue to develop his playing career and feels that Southern United is a great team to do that with.

Head Coach Paul O’Reilly is very pleased with the commitment and learning he has seen in Sansucie since he started trialling and training with the team. He said: “I like to have players who work hard and want to constantly improve and better themselves and the players around them.

“Josh is the kind of player that fits that mould and I’m very happy that he is joining the team. I think he could link up really well with the likes of Chris Wingate, Joel Stevens and Garbhan Coughlan and cause a serious threat to our opposition throughout the season,” O’Reilly added.

The highest goal scorer for his team with 22 goals in 26 games, Sansucie is hopeful he can produce a similar number for Southern. He said: “I’m an exciting player, I’m quite quick and I can definitely score goals.

“The main thing for me is that I get to be a part of the success the team has,” Sansucie added. “The team are a great bunch of lads and Paul has been so welcoming and I really appreciate them giving me a chance. They all want to make progress and that’s the biggest thing for me because I want to win too!”

Sansucie is extremely grateful for the opportunity to return to New Zealand to play football. “This move would not be possible if it wasn’t for K3 Coaching where I had great coaching from Kyle, Kallum and Korey Nix. I am also extremely grateful to my friend Paul Ifill who co-ordinated the trial.

“The positive environment at Southern has also been key in making this such an easy move. The strength and conditioning coach, the physios, the assistant coach, media and all my new teammates made the transition simple and enjoyable. Everything has been done professionally and I’m extremely grateful for it,” Sansucie explained.

The striker will look to continue to work hard during the team’s pre-season training in the hopes to be a part of the squad that will face Tasman United at home in Southern’s opening game of the season at the start of November.
