As the government continues to relax the lockdown rules, the RFU have recently created a roadmap, to allow a safe return to community rugby. We are currently in Stage B, which allows for training in small groups of up to six people, while still keeping socially distant.
Our committee has been monitoring the guidelines, and discussing plans for how we can return to training safely. We are now communicating this information to members via the club WhatsApp group, with the intention to return to training during the coming weeks.
It is more important than ever that all players confirm their attendance via Teamer, or by communicating directly. This means that the coach and senior players will know what numbers to expect, and will be able to plan the session accordingly.
We will be running a risk assessment prior to every session, to assure to safety of all players and coaches. Sanitiser, paper towels, face masks, and gloves will be made available for all to use. Use of balls and training equipment will be kept to a minimum, any equipment we do use will be regularly cleaned throughout the session.
This is the time of year when we look to welcome new players to the club. If you are interested in joining, then please contact us, and we will be happy to provide you details of how you can get involved during the coming weeks.
The welfare of all club members is the most important thing to us, so if you are unsure about anything, then please contact one of the club officers.
Thank you for continuing to support Southgate RFC during these uncertain times. We hope this is the beginning of the road back to playing rugby again.
