A tough week in the heat saw us drop to 3rd after a disappointing result against Cockfosters.
Predictably we were asked to bowl first in 37° heat. Our fast bowlers performed well to reduce our opposition to 150-9 until their last wicket stand which saw their no 4 bring up his 100 put on another 43 to set us a challenging yet very gettable target of 193. Eddie Cox was back amongst the wickets with 4 to his name. Tristan Barton-Allen, Ben Hammond and Euan Ferguson also got their names in the wicket column.
The chase got off to a bad start, losing Euan caught behind and captain Tom Flint run out two balls later, the Cockfosters side were on top. Milton D'Costa and Alex Flett steadied the ship and got us back into the game until both fell to similar dismissals caught at square leg. Rohan Patel was perhaps harshly judged to be lbw and our lower order was bundled out by the consistent line and length from the opening bowler. Krishan Naik batted well for his 28 and with Harry Cox got us to 123 and some precious batting points before we lost our final wicket. A terrible chase, we were up with the required run rate but we just threw our wickets away.
Man of the Match: Eddie Cox.
