The first half hour was scrappy and I can't remember any keepers made to work, all the play was in a midfield dog fight, then on 31 a Danny Riley turn to beat the defender and a perfect cross right across the goal line for Ash Whitt to hit home from two yard, the first half past without the Normanton keeper having to make a save but don't think the game was boring it was hard work but the hard work paid off.
The second half started badly for Normanton when they lacked quality for the only time in the game, a long ball wasn't dealt with and Lewis Cambell beat Normanton's keeper with his first shot on 48 to level the game, The reply was swift and a cross to Kyle Jonson was brought down and struck with venum, the Stapenhill keeper couldn't handle it, the ball hit the bottom right hand corner on 58 minutes,Ten minutes later super sub, Jamie Pawley came on the pitch and made his mark within a minute, a wide ball to Pawley who brought the ball down on the left wing and fired the ball into the opposite corner, Normanton's 4th goal was on 75 from a Dan Riley cross for Luke Crosby to Nic the ball of a defender at the back post, A good day at the office for South Normanton and should help them in the League cup wed night Normanton are at Home to Gedling Miners Welfare this Saturday 3pm k/o, SNAFC: Damien Clark, Dave Leigh, Ryan Granger (68 Jamie Pawley), Danny Roberts c, Kane Jellyman, Frazer Kirk, Dan Riley, Kyle Johnson, Ash Whitt (73 Rob Fretwell) Luke Crosby, Sam Sims, Sub not used, Tom Betteridge, Tom Leighton, Chris Green
