It took till the 20th minute before a good chance went begging with an Ash Whitt good run down the left wing, his bye line cross went right across the goal mouth to the usually reliable Ant Fay at the back post but could not hit the ball properly and scuffed the shot, then 7 minutes later after good work from Kyle Jackson in midfield who found Ant Fay in front of goal 30 yard out, Fay ran just to the right of Ellistown goal and 6 yard out hit a shot which flew over the bar, Frazer Kirk on 29 who could only hit the bar with a brave headed effort, then on 36 Ben Harris for Ellistown from 40 yard saw the Normanton keeper of his line and just hit it, Steve Smith got a hand to the ball but couldn’t stop the shot going in to make it 1-0 to the home side, from then on it was all Ellistown till the break, but Normanton didn’t deserve to the goal down at the break. The second half was all in midfield except for 2 efforts from Dan Riley in the first twenty minutes of the second half, but it was Ellistown who scored on 65 from the cruelest of deflection’s from a Tendsi Chitiza effort, then on 70 Carl Benson scored straight from a free kick 30 yard out, every one looked stuck to the floor but Normanton after 3 cruel goals looked out of it, Normanton had the chances to win this game but just didn’t take them, and you can only say the score line didn’t reflect the game, from then on South Normanton looked flat but all credit to the home side who take the 3 points.Normanton are away at Stapenhill this Saturday 3pm k/o, then on Wednesday 11th Mar Normanton are at home in the League Cup against high flying Bardon Hill, 7.45pm k/o
