Ashley Whitts hat trick takes South Normanton Athletic to 60 points in this the first year in this league which can only be celibrated, what a year for the Shiners, with 5 games to go and in April, South Normanton are still in the semi final of the league cup and 5th in the league. This was Ashley Whitts 28th goal of the season and his 13th goal in his last 8 games for South Normanton Athletic

The first few minutes into this game started scruffy with an early let off for Normanton when Lamar Parks hit the post from a free kick on 3, but that was the wake up call that Normanton needed and with a Luke Croby cross into the box for Ash Whitt to bring down and put into the corner on 7 which put Normanton 1-0 up, then another Luke Crosby effort which was spilled by the keeper for Ash Whitt's brace 2 minutes later, then Aylestone' s skipper Sam Gent got on the end of a cross on 18 but couldn't direct his header which looked a sitter, but then on 30 a brilliant shot from Aylestone Park’s, Ryan Calver from 18 yard right into the left hand side of Normanton's net which left Normanton shocked to take the game to 2-1, then a shot from Tom Clary which left Ste Smith the Normanton keeper no chance one minute later which was totally against the run of play, that was two good goals within a minute to bring the game level at the break,

The second half Tommy Leighton the Normanton manager brought on Kyle Johnson who he was resting, off the bench and put him in midfield, dropped Danny Roberts the Normanton skipper back in defence, and in the first minute it proved a better balance, it didn’t long before a ball from Kyle Johnson in midfield to Crosby on the right wing, who's cross was to Ant Fay. who curled the ball into the opposite side of the Aylestone’s goal to put Normanton 3-2 up, then it took till the 79th minute before Normanton secured all three points thanks to a one on one from Ash Whitt who found the net and his hat trick, Ash Whitt is in fire then super sub Adam Gillott came on in the 80th minute and with his second touch from 9 yard scored Normanton's 5th goal, then Adam Gillott got his second from another Luke Crosby cross on the 90th minute, then on 91 Tom Betteridge gets a goal from a shot that went loose and he hit the ball well which the keeper got a hand to it but the ball went in of the post which put Aylestone on their knees. 7-2 to the Shiners, South Normanton are away at Eagle Valley, Oxton Road, NG58PS against Arnold Town this Saturday 3pm k/o,
