Late goal beats 10 man Shiners

It was a disappointing and controversial defeat in this local derby against Heanor Town in which the home side battled well for long periods only to find defeat in the final moments of the game.
The game started well for Heanor, finding two good opportunities in the opening 5 minutes as the home defence with 3 changes took time to settle in. First Sleigh running down the the left channel fired high and wide, the same player shot weakly wide of the goal as he disposed Strzyzweski but lost his balance.
The Shiners were reduced to 10 men on 6 minutes after there first attack was half cleared and Osushine (pictured) was adjudged to have made a two footed tackle by the ref, this was clearly communicated by the ref. This incensed the players, home fans and the management as it was certainly a strong robust challenge where the player clearly won the ball but was 100% not two footed but on a wet surface his follow through took him into the Heanor player who was stationary.
The Shiners re organised and without overly threatening the Heanor goal largely kept any real opportunities for Heanor to a minimum. On 25 minutes McEvoy was sacrificed for Tyson to again change shape. Heanor had territorial advantage but the Shiners defence dealt with the long balls and crosses well. There was a good opportunity for the Shiners to take the lead when a free kick from 25 yards deflected off the wall fell to Strzyzeweski who snap shot went wide, but to be fair the ball came at the defender quickly
Heanor best chance of the half came on half time when Heanor captain Roulston headed over the bar and should have done better. It certainly seemed that Heanor found it more difficut against 10 then they did against 11

The second half saw a more even possession and territory for the Shiners. Again Heanor attacked but didn't really carve open any real chances despite pressure. With shots from distances never really troubling Mansfield in the Shiners goal. The Shiners responded and came close after good work by Tyson found Sylla who jinked past two defenders before curling a left footed shot just over the corner of post and bar with Cammidge beaten. Another moment of frustration for the home fans when Robley struggled to clear in the windy conditions with the ball going straight up in the air and with Hemagou nicking the ball to go clear through on goal but was pulled back having been adjudged to have fouled Robley. It was the Shiners who very nearly opened the scoring when Hemagou and Sylla found Tyson who took a touch and hit a great shot that Cammidge at full stretch finger tipped the ball onto the post and out for a corner.
Just as the game looked like ending a goalless draw Heanor scored to take the points. A straight ball went over Strzyzewski and with Palmer and Mansfield unable to get there the ball bounced in the box and the heanor striker nipped in and took a great touch before sliding the ball home. Heartbreak for such a gutsy performance.
There was still time for another moment of controversy in injury time. Hemagou chasing a bouncing ball headed beyond the keeper with an open goal ahead of the Shiners striker but as the Heanor keeper came out collided with the Heanor keeper, no penalty awarded which was hard to take as if the keeper was coming for the ball the challenge was late as Hemagou got there first.

The game ended there with a 1.0 defeat, this was really hard to take as having played with 10 men for 86 minutes and a number of big decisions going against us. the lads today can hold their heads high as the best credit i can give them is that at times it didnt look like 10 v 11.
