Shane Newton 2
7 Simeon Oshoboke
55 Chris King
65 Richard Hanslow
This game was tighter than the scoreline suggests but for two brilliant strikers for Bardon Hill Simeon Oshoboke and Richard Hanslow in an end to end game of football
The first goal for Normanton was on 2 minutes when Shane Newton beat the off side trap, then slotted the ball home from 10 yards, the keeper got a hand to it but it wasn't enough, but Bardons reply came 5 minutes after from a free kick into the box for Simeon Oshoboke with a glancing header into the opposite corner, then on 8 a one two with Ant Fay and Shane Newton created a effort that just went wide, from then on the game produced a good half with chances on both sides with lots of good football but at the break it ended level,
The second half started brightly with a Shane Newton effort which scraped the post with a good effort in the first minute, a minute later Bardon did exactly the same but the shot was by Richard Hanslow, then on 55 a shot by Hanslow chipped the Normanton keeper Steve Smith the crowd shouted a goal but a overhead kick by Sam Sims cleared, Bardons second came from a brilliant shot by Chris King whose shot hit the bar and bounced in from 20 yards out, on 63 Sam Keenan for Normanton with a cross for Ash Whitt to hit home from 6 yard but scuffed the shot, The third goal for Bardon was a classic strike by Richard Hanslow with a one on one with the keeper, Hanslow hit the ball with the outside of his boot leaving Steve Smith no chance on 65, the game flowed at a fast pace but it took till the 85th before Normanton had a good shot on goal, it was Shane Newton who’s shot was saved with a brilliant low dive by Bardons keeper Tom Gutteridge to his right, the game ended and Bardon will be up the table playing like they did today.
