Lakeside U11s Red vs. Southside U11s Lions

Some lovely early play from all the boys and Logan was very unlucky with a couple of shots, but made some cracking saves. Tom really controlled that left wing and we saw some great touches and pace from Finn and Sam (who scored a lovely goal), and both were really getting stuck in to tackles and had few shots on goal which forced fine saves. Nice tracking back from Hayden and good distribution from zizou, who had some lovely touches. We were just a bit overrun on counter attacks but Max and Noah were really strong both in defence and going forward. Raffi showed real pace and vision to get forward and on the end of some of Zizou's crosses and we really came back in to it with a brilliant goal from Noah after excellent strength from Raffi to win the ball back. The second half started with excellent pressure from Zac and Noah and good through ball from Noah to Raffi who sat all the defenders down before scoring a great goal. Brilliant clearances from Max and a wonder save from Logan kept us in it after some good pressure from the reds. Some beautiful build up play from Finn and Sam with fast one twos before a great goal from Raffi who nearly had another shortly after. Charlie did great work in midfield before firing off a shot which unfortunately went wide. Zac and Tom made wonderful clearances towards the end and Logan made a great save to keep it close and all the lions are starting to gel. Scoreline 8-4 to the reds. ~ Tom Rowland
