Southside Star U8 Cubs - League 1, Fixture 4

With extra teams in their group, the Wildcats had an additional game this week versus GVR Chalford. The team consisted of George, Josh, Arlo, Harry, Hugo, William and Luke S.

The Wildcats have really improved over the last 4 weeks and Saturday finally saw everything come together in an outstanding team performance, winning 8-1. First off, I must say a massive thanks to Ash for doing a great job in warming all the boys up and helping run the team, this made a huge difference #thankyou #legend

The team initially went 1-0 down in the first minute but after that they focused and dominated the rest of the game with strong performances throughout. George was again a “rock” at the back and made a couple of outstanding saves. The rest of the team all switched roles playing in both defence and attack. Hugo put in another towering performance looking comfortable and scoring a great goal, Arlo played a captain's role intelligently guiding the team and providing vital support in defence and attack. Wills and Luke played well as a unit with some great interplay, with Wills scoring 2 and Luke 1. Josh played his usual strong role, scoring 4 goals as well as supporting well.

Man of the match this week though was Harry, who had a great game in both attack and defence. He’s improved every week and this week really came to the fore with some great tackling, passing and interplay - star performer!

Finally, a massive thanks to James and Tony for refereeing a half each and to all the parents for supporting in such a positive Southside Way, including the krypton factor that is the goal posts!!
