Southwark welcome Whitstable back to the Cage for the first time since the 2012-13 season. Our team of historians have looked back through our dusty leather-bound annuals to reveal the result of that match was 38 - 15 with Whitstable eventually relegated and Dartfordians (now at level 6) promoted.
Anyway, back to the present, Southwark are 5 from 5 and 4 points clear at the top of the table with their closest rivals Kings & Cranbrook playing each other this weekend. Whitstable have not had an easy ride since their promotion back to Kent 1 with their only victory coming against Old Gravesendians who are going through a rebuilding phase. This highly unpredictable league always throws up surprises but Southwark will be looking for a bonus point victory to keep some daylight between themselves and the rest of the table.
Not many changes for Southwark, Israel Sotonwa takes over the captain armband for the first time, Toby Findlay returns to the row with Matt Hunt playing at 8 and Harry Sharp at 7. CJ Porter-Thaw moves up to 10 and Gerry Ryan takes over from Hugh and his sickly Hamstrings. A strong bench of Tom Swierkosz, Eric Hall and James Hughes wait in the wings.
