A James Kifford Hat trick plus a goal from Slappy ensured a 4-1 over a determined Horsham side on a hot afternoon on Saturday
Despite being a little short on players the 1sts pretty much dominated this one and scored at regular intervals in the first half, the Australia bound Kiff opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Scott Richardson was taken out when clear on goal. He added a 2nd 15 minutes later with a close range finish after good work from John Glover. Horsham did show some signs of life and good work from the defence kept it to 2-0 before a great finish from a short corner from Slappy made it 3 just before half time
The heat slowed everyone down in the 2nd half which also featured cameos from Paul Glover and Saul Mumford as the 1sts showed their lack of match fitness. Kiff did complete his hat trick though from the top of the D. At 4-0 up we could not escape with a clean sheet as a somewhat farcical penalty flick was conceded by Luke O'Connell late on which saw Horsham grab a consolation
BBQ back at the Cricket Club was well attended and thanks to Portslade for making us feel welcome there
