Southwick Pilgrims 3 - 1 Brighton Bears

A very tense and hard fought game where the pilgrims dominated against a bears team that never really troubled the pilgrims defence, only occasion when the offensive player proceed to knee, kick and flick the bouncing ball into the empty pilgrims net, despite the best efforts of the line stopper and all round gent John Glover, which sent the bears roaring into the lead against the run of play.
The southwick pilgrims were valiant in attack and couldn't capitalise on some chances, which maybe a young Paul Selley could of taken.
However the pilgrims pulled together and united together to hunt the bears to break down a strong defensive unit. An always menacing presence, James Kifford, managed an equalisation goal shot a few minutes later, after a strong offensive move by the reds.
This gave the pilgrims the boost they needed, and not long after pilgrims new big summer signing scored a cheeky solo effort from a short corner on the reverse to take the advantage going into the last 15 minutes of the second period.
The pilgrims looked good for their lead, with the bears never really troubling their 25 and D, due to a solid performance from the defence, lead by man of the match Grant Packham, who was ever strong in tackles and man management.
The last goal was scored by a fantastic interlocking move between Kifford and young Folkes, who only just managed to put out his cigarette in time to calved open the defence leading to an easy tap in by Kifford, which was the last touch of the game.
Macca still has yet to score. Minutes count tally - 210.
