Spalding United can announce 10 of last season's squad will remain with the club for 2019/20.

Manager Matt Easton has also bolstered the club's ranks with the signings of Lewis Brownhill, Josh Spencer and Ben Greenwood.

Easton said: "After a busy week, Lewis Thorogood and I are are delighted to announce a number of players who have agreed deals with Spalding United for next season.

"The players have committed themselves for 2019/20 and will all suit the way we want to play this year."

The 2018/19 Player of the Season, Kegan Everington, will remain with the club. Easton described securing the midfielder's signature as a "priority".

"He is hard-working midfielder with the ability to dictate the pace of games," he said. "It was a priority that the club held on to Kegan."

Everington will be joined by defender Neal Spafford. The experienced centre-back, pictured holding the new 2019/20 away kit, is a fans' favourite.

Another defender, Taron Hare, will remain with the club. He moved to the Sir Halley Stewart Playing Field from Matlock Town last season.

Thorogood said: "Taron has a great attitude. He is a great athlete, and a great player."

There will be one of two familiar faces wearing the number one jersey next season: Michael Duggan, who is approaching his 300th appearance for the club, and Alex Smith have both renewed their deals.

Left-back James Hugo will also continue with Spalding United. The 19-year-old has shown experience belying his years since moving from Lincoln City two seasons ago.

Versatile midfielder George Zuerner will remain in South Lincolnshire, too. He joined from Holbeach United last season.

Strikers Scott Floyd, Jenk Acar and Daniel Mason, who is a graduate of the club's youth setup, have each signed contract extensions for next season.

The 10 remaining players will be joined by three new signings.

Lewis Brownhill, an FA Vase winner with Thatcham Town in 2018, has joined the club having featured for RAF representative sides.

Ben Greenwood has joined from Sleaford Town to add competition to Easton's defensive ranks.

Versatile defender and midfielder Josh Spencer has also moved to Spalding. He has played for Grantham Town and in the United States.

The club's competitive schedule begins on Saturday 3rd August, with a trip to Cleethorpes Town in the Lincolnshire Senior Cup quarter-finals.
