In conditions likened to the great storm of 1703, Spartans battled for a hard fought draw in a game which could have gone either way.
The players, referee and the few people daft enough to stay out in the freezing conditions should be commended for sticking at it and in the end it took a great amount of courage from the Spartans players to hold out Sarries, who were camped on their line for the final 5 minutes.
Spartans tries were scored by Josh Allaway (2), Ben Beattie and Reece Boughton, who also kicked a conversion to round off his short spell with the club.
