A great cup start for the 1st team beating Leeds Demons in both the Handicap and Knock out Cup to progress into the next round.
A tough cup run for the 2nd team loosing to Horsforth Hustlers 1st team in the Knock Out Cup. They put on a great show against Knottingley Cougars 1st team in the Hanicap cup but fell short loosing by 1 point in a tough game high scoring game finishing 125-124.
The 2nd teams league started with a good win away from home beating Knottingley Cougars 2nd team followed by loosing on the road to Harrogate Raiders 2nd team. The Vipers then came back with a bang beating Leeds Tigers 2nd team also on the road. This form continued in the league by beating a tough Queensbury Hawks at home holding them to just 22 points. The Vipers are now sitting top of the league with a 3-1 run in the league.
The new Ladies team is underway and have now played 2 games the women are 0-2 but with some massive progression happening, going into their 2nd game they put up over 50 shots against Deighton Diamonds, the was great incomparission to the game against Harrogate Raiders where they only took around 20 shots in their first outing. Another positive for the ladies they also double their score for the game too which shows massive improvement and we look forward to seeing further improvements from the ladies.
As you can see the clubs performances are going from strength to strength, improving every time we train or play. The men's teams are working hard while looking for promotion up the league systems.
With all teams looking strong and healthy coming into a tough few months, There is a few fixtures to look out for:
The 2nd team have an opertunity to gain revenge against Harrogate Raiders 2nd team when the play at our place on the 13th November 5:15 tip.
The 1st team will also be looking for revenge against Rawthorpe Cobras who visit the Vipers on the 27th November with a 6:30 tip.
We have a double header in both of these days. It would look good to get some support down for the lads.
Lastly with all these big team performances, we are going to be giving a monthly award to the player who has stepped up across the club. This will be based on attitude shown in both training and games, and performances. This months award is going to Jordan Kennedy. For his consistant great performences helping the 2nd team gain some valuable wins, his attitude adjustment has been unbelievable, changing the way in which he is playing the game. He also has had the opportunity to play 1st team for two games with great performances for them too, showing the same manner of attitude in these games.
I am looking forward to the next month in the club with some big games coming up.
Cheers for reading.
