Witham Town Whites v Dragons

Going to witham has never been easy for us, but today we were all really up for it! From kick off we pressed well with Kian getting lots of joy down the right. Before the first goal Conor went close after Kian curled in from the right and Conor hitting a volley aimed for what he described , as top bin, grazed the bar on the way out! Not long after Conor got his reward coming from great set up play by Kian who found Conor in space and he finished well. Witham pressed us back with Roo being superb in a new position in defence, unluckily we went in at half time level after a deflection from a corner crept over the line. We kicked on after half time with Kian getting his goal with a well hit shot. We battled for every ball and Rylee was tenacious to get 2 really hard fought goals, both coming from solid defence at the back from Angus and then great footwork from Rylee. George kept us in the game with some incredible saves, when Roo hit a great strike to find the net and leaving their keeper stranded. Ryan won us a free kick in a great position with some dogged pressing which Roo curled in from the edge of the box. Witham pressed towards the end with George more than up to the challenge, saving shot after shot! Witham nicked one with the last kick of the game. Overall our play was brilliant from everyone in both defence and attack!

Dragon of the week
George ‘Safe hands’ Sadler- George had a rough time when we were here last but put all that behind him today keeping us in the game time after time with some quality saves. Even had another coach from an older age group ask if they can sign him! Well done George, incredible performance!
