A thrilling game between 2 Sporting teams

Dragons v Scorpions
Jenson Archie 3
Ryan Jake
Roo Tor

A beautiful sunny morning in Wethersfield hosted the highly anticipated match between the Dragons and Scorpions and we were not left disappointed with both teams putting in fantastic performances.

The new looking Dragons started very quickly latching on to some poor defending from a nervy looking Scorpions, and with a lot of work still to do Jenson finished very well to give the Dragons an early lead. More sloppy play from the Scorpions let the Dragons in again, this time Ryan finding himself through on goal making no mistake to double the lead for the Dragons. 2-0

The Scorpions then started to find a foothold in the game and a nice through ball form Jake found Archie in space and his powerful shot found the net to make it 2-1

As both teams settled we saw some strong defending from both Roo and Poyraz and there was nice touches and passes in the middle of the park from both teams. After some neat play it was the Scorpions who found the equaliser with a beautiful finish from Jake high into the net to make it 2-2
Another strong attack from the Scorpions saw Jake on the edge of the Dragons' box, he squared the ball across the goal and a determined Tor saw his effort hit the back of the net to put the Scorpions in the lead 3-2.

As a frantic first half was drawing to a close, a free-kick from distance was awarded to the Dragons, with Roo lining up the shot he hit a fabulous strike that gave the keeper no chance. 3-3.
A great first half ended with a fabulous effort from George sailing agonisingly wide. HT.

The second half started brightly for the Scorpions with Mason scoring within seconds of the restart, and it was Archie that put the game beyond the Dragons with 2 further goals to complete an excellent hat-trick. The Dragons had plenty of good moments in the second half but some inspired goalkeeping from Tor kept them at bay.

A brilliant and highly entertaining match from both teams today. Well done everyone.

Scorpion of the Match - Tor.
Very determined performance today. Got an important goal to put the Scorpions ahead at a critical time. It was however an inspired second half performance in goal which earned many plaudits and certainly stopped the Dragons from scoring more goals - Well done

Dragon of the Week - Ryan Bensley
Pitbull took the fight the Scorpions with some determined dribbles and grabbed a goal in the first half! Well done Ryan!
