Another clean sheet as Scorpions remain unbeaten

Scorpions 5- 0 Galleywood Youth Falcons
Archie (3)
Mason
Jake

Our strong start in the Crouch division continued today with our second 5-0 win in a row.

Back on home soil and with the sun shining it was an even start to the match with Galleywood Youth using their physicality knocking the ball long and starving the Scorpions of any decent possession.

The Scorpions slowly started to get into their stride with Jake smashing the post from distance and Patrick having a good opportunity but failing to hit the target. Some subs midway through the half made an instant impact with Archie showing those trade mark twists and turns in the box firing low to open the scoring. A few minutes later and Mason hit a looping shot from distance which beat the keeper to make it 2-0. A lovely run from Caspar at the end of the half ended with an Archie shot on target but the keeper was equal to it. 2-0 at half time.

The Scorpions started brightly in the second half and a rocket of a shot from Jake from outside the box made it 3-0 and gave us clear daylight. Tor had a great effort hit the post and another save from a Jake effort saw the Scorpions having their best moments of the match. A magnificent piece of goalkeeping then denied George a goal before Patrick hit the post again for the Scorpions!! Late on in the match Archie added another two to his tally to give the Scorpions a fairly straight forward victory in the end. 5-0 Full time.

Some nice passages of play today in a fairly scrappy encounter - not helped by the constant long goal kicks from our opposition that kept going out for goal kicks. A special mention to Lucas who had a great game in the middle of the park running his socks off, and was very close to taking the Scorpion of the match. Poyraz took an unfortunate knock to the nose but our captain for the day battled on bravely and had a very steady second half. We'll continue to work on our passing next week and we must remember to run into the space and not after the ball when we are in possession. Well done Scorpions.

Scorpion of the Week – Archie.

Hat trick hero today. He has slotted into the team brilliantly and scored the all important first goal which settled the Scorpions. His composure was brilliant and we are becoming accustomed to his twists and turns and powerful shooting in the box - Well done.
