Khalsa were the better side in the first half but did not really test the hosts keeper, with Simeon Cobourne having the best chance his shot flashed wide. Against the run of play a misplaced pass from Luke Ward to Newey who made no mistake and smashed the ball home to give Sphinx the lead. The home side held the nerve for the last 30 minutes and were awarded with another goal in stoppage time.
