Khalsa lose 3-1 in opening game in Pitching in Northern Premier League Midland Division fixture against Shepshed Dynamo under the sweltering heat at Guardian Warehousing Arena.

The first chance of the game fell to Khalsa with Sean Williams nearly snatching the ball off Brandon Ganley on two minutes.

On five minutes Callum Rai sent the ball over the top and Sam Arnold advanced out of his area. The hosts went straight down the other end Kieron Whittaker firing into Ganley.

Mcgrady fired across the box on twenty three minutes with Jordan Smith clearing.

After the first drinks break Arlott-John found Ritzema who fired over on twenty eight minutes.

Shepshed took the lead on thirty three minutes Arlott-John beating Arnold at his far post.

Sporting Khalsa could feel unlucky not to equalise on thirty six minutes Okafor down the right cut the ball Inside to Williams whose effort rebounded off both uprights to safety.

Arnold was alert again on forty one minutes after good work from Reece Morris who had replaced Matt Melbourne the keeper thwarted Arlott-John.

Two minutes later Okafor hit the side netting and the half ended with Hakeem firing wide as Shepshed led at the break.

Okafor had the first chance of the second half with Ganley saving on fifty one minutes.

Arlott-John and Morris combined well on fifty three minutes with Ritzema's effort blocked and Morris from the rebound saved by Arnold.

Khalsa had the perfect opportunity to equalise on fifty seven minutes O'Neill Brooks brought down Okafor in the box and he got up to take the penalty but put it wide of the goal.

Jorrin John then had an effort saved by Arnold on fifty nine minutes.

Khalsa equalised on sixty two minutes Gurjit Singh was fouled by Jahdahn Fridye- Harper and Todd Farrier despatched the spot kick.

Singh then fired wide on sixty seven minutes.

After the second drinks break Dynamo looked the better side. Rai's cross was put over by Jorrin John on sixty nine minutes and four minutes later Snedden's cross was headed by Rai and saved by Arnold.

Hakeem then hit wide on seventy five minutes.

The game changer happened on seventy seven minutes Arlott-John was fouled by Andrew Parsons on the edge of the area and was cautioned as the two players entered the area for the free kick there's an altercation between Parsons's and Arlott-John with Khalsa being reduced to ten men.

Shepshed retook the lead on eighty minutes Medrano's cross was met at the far post by Hakeem.

Dynamo made sure of the three points a minute from time with substitute Shaun Ruzvidzo lobbing Arnold.

Under sweltering heat both teams deserve credit for providing an entertaining afternoon.
