Sport London e Benfica Ladies FC played Tower Hamlets WFC and won 4-1, the first game at home in the season. With TH WFC topping the league, it was never going to be easy. When Benfica Ladies went 2-0 ahead in the 1st half with goals from Shivani and Whale, TH responded with a goal of their own. At half-time, with the result excellently poised at whoever would score next would swing the advantage in their favour. Fortunately, it was a second goal from Shivani and a penalty from, Kally-Ann (her first game this season, after returning from injury), offered by captain Iselin, that gave the result to Sport London e Benfica. Other results today: a surprise 1-2 loss for QPR away to Edgware Town, previously undefeated Larkspur Rovers losing at home to Ridgeway Rovers 1-4, Luton Town Res drew 3-3 with East London and finally Headstone Manor beat Enfield Town 3rds 5-1 to put themselves top of the league, above London’s Benfica, by goal difference. SLB ladies have a game in hand. 1 point separates the top 4 teams!
