“Those of you that joined us during preseason will have seen the hard work that has gone into the Football Club off the pitch to create an amazing atmosphere in tremendous new settings. Add to that a return to the pitch, we have seen players move on which is always disappointing and we thank them for their amazing service to the football club especially that of James Boyd who has been with me from day one of my time.

“Whilst we lose players, we welcome new players experienced players and players who can really add something to what will be a special group this season. We have our own aims for the season but for the start of the season we want to see a fully committed confident group who are driven and want to create a winning feeling. I want a team that our fanbase can be proud of. I see it as an honour to manage this football club and going forward it is my responsibility to the fans to deliver success.

“Success can be determined by many things. We want to give the best account of ourselves on a weekly basis and create a never say die attitude to knowing that winning games is the most important thing to keep people happy and to keep the group intact.

“I call on all of you supporters whether you come home and away support us at home or support us from within your home please come together and be supportive of us and we will do our best every time we pull on the Gate shirt.

“We want to have a foothold in our local community and encourage fans new and old to join us and let us show you what we have to offer.

“I thank all the guys behind the scenes at the club, my back room staff and most of all the fans for your support as always. With all the respect due to others we know what we are capable of. So let’s start with a bang and come together for a successful season!
