Gate hosted bootle just over a year ago, and it was a strong start for the hosts as they went into a 2-0 lead with goals from Dean Ing and Riccardo Egidi. Bootle pulled a goal back just before half time, and carried that momentum into the second half. Hoy, Peers and Millington goals turned the game on its head as the visitors ran out 4-2 winners.

A 10 goal thriller at the Berry Street Garage Stadium, in Gate's first game of the new decade. Conceding after 2 minutes, before Ing equalised 20 minutes later. The game was 3-2 at half time, with both sides creating plenty of chances. It was the second half where Gate lost focus, as Millington doubled his tally as well as Hoy, Doran and Foy adding goals in a bad night down in Merseyside for Squires Gate.

An unbeaten pre season so far for the Merseyside is setting them up well for the season ahead. An impressive win over Prescot Cables and a draw against Marine who are both in leagues above.
