We caught up with New Squires Gate Manager Luke Evans as he was confirmed this afternoon.

“I am delighted to accept the first team manager’s job at Squires Gate. I feel that the club has great potential to get back up the leagues where it should be.

I had a great time at AFC Darwen and I would like to thank them for accepting the approach but also wish them luck in the future. Without the great people at that club I wouldn’t be where I am and personally would like to thank Sarah Hindle and Kenny Langford.

I can’t wait to get started here and get the team back winning games and compete at the higher end of the table. I feel that I’m the right man to do this and I will work hard to achieve our goals. I bring with me my assistant Shane Hudson our teams are very resilient, hard working and I will leave no stone unturned on and off the pitch. There is already some excellent talent at this football club and I’m looking forward to a positive season”

Luke and his Assistant Manager Shane Hudson will take charge of the side at Avro on Saturday as we look to climb back up the league.
