After Saturday's loss at home to AFC Liverpool, Gate face another tough test away at Bootle.
Gate come into the game on the back of an entertaining 5-4 defeat to AFC Liverpool. An entertaining an end to end game but don't the desired end result for Gate. Gate started the game in the best way possible after Ric Seear picked himself up and slotted away the penalty after he'd been fouled. AFC then levelled through Jack Leamey before Gate again took the lead through Brett Dawson. In an end to end first half AFC again levelled Champion scoring before Ric Seear again grabbed another goal. But it would be AFC who would go on to win the game, Conor Belger grabbing a goal just before half time then again in the 71st minute. Jack Leamey then got his second of the game before Ric Seear completed his hatrick in the 90th minute.
Saturday's hosts Bootle come into the game second in the league two points behind leaders Runcorn Town and two points from third place Atherton Colls. They come into the game on the back of a 7-1 win away at AFC Darwen, leading 5-0 at half time. Bootle come into the game second in the form table behind Saturdays opponents AFC Liverpool having won five of their last six games. That loss came away at Irlam, Bootle losing 1-0. Goals haven't been a problem for Bootle this year with the team scoring all over the pitch. As expected striker Ryan Cox is leading the way with 28 goals but fellow striker Steve Jones has contributed a further 19 and midfielder and further 17 goals.
