Squires Gate host promotion hopefuls Atherton Colls on Tuesday night.

Gate will be looking to carry on the good performance shown on Tuesday night.

Gate come into the game on the back of an encouraging performance against Irlam on Saturday. Gate manager Danny Penswick made five changes to the team that drew with Nelson the Saturday before, with top goal scorer Ric Seear returning to the side. Ryan Riley also came back into the team aswell as Andrew Richards, Jamie Gibson and Jake Higham. New signing David Rossall was on the bench. Gate took the lead in this game after 11 minutes after having some good chances to do so prior. Defender Paul Alexander got the final touch to the ball to grab his first goal for the club from Richard's scuffed shot back into the box. Gate went on to create several clear chances but alongside some good defending and bad misses, Gate would only go into half time 1-0 up. Irlam came into the game more in the second half and would grab an equaliser in the 83rd minute. The main talking point of the game came on 85 minutes when Gate were denied and obvious goal. Ben Seear judged to have been offside despite the ball coming off an Irlam player and Irlam having two players on the line.

Atherton Colls have made a good start to the season and are on target for promotion this season. They currently sit in 2nd place in the league five points behind leaders Runcorn Town. They've won 11 of their 18 games, drawing 4 and losing three. The come in to this game having progressed into the next round of The Macron Cup. Striker Jordan Cover grabbing a goal either side of half time. Colls come into the game the form team having won club of the month for October and unbeaten in eight games.

Last time Gate met Atherton Colls was at the start of the season. Gate came into the game in good form and good confidence after beating 1874 Northwich on the opening day. But the home side to the lead in this game after a defensive slip up aloud in lethal striker Mark Battersby to open the scoring on 39 minutes. But Gate didn't let this get them down and carried on going all the way until the final minute when we grabbed a deserved equaliser. Brett Dawson running free of the last man to slot the ball past the onrushing keeper and ear well deserved draw for Gate.
