SIGNING: Ric’s back home as Clarkson’s first signing

SIGNING: Ric’s back home as Clarkson’s first signing

Mark Ashmore1 Jul 2018 - 12:40

Squires Gate are delighted to welcome back Ric Sear to the club from Kendal Town

Ric re-joins the club having left one year ago to test himself at Evo Stik level with Colne after scoring 20 goals in 18 appearances for Gate. His time at Colne was plagued by an early injury that limited his chances though a debut goal against Scarborough Athletic got him of to a flying start.

Ric has since been continuing to play at Evo Stik level with Kendal Town this past season scoring 16 goals to help them to a mid-table finish. Catching the eye often playing out of position in left midfield.

Ric returns to the club and links up with Assistant Manager Terry Green who he knows from his time at AFC Blackpool when Terry bought both Ric and Ben to the club from Blackpool Wren Rovers.

You can see all Ric’s goals from his last time at the club including scoring two hatricks and building a lethal partnership with Brett Dawson up front.

A clearly jubilant Andy Clarkson had this to say on his first signing of the new season: “When I became Manager of Squires Gate back in November Ric was a player I wanted to sign from Kendal Town.

I’m delighted to finally get his signature as he will add attacking firepower to our squad. His ambition matches both mine and the club.

I’m sure Ric will fit in really well with all the lads, he’s not only a great player but he’s a really nice lad.”

Stay tuned to our website in the coming week as we welcome more of Andy Clarkson’s signings.
