Nigel and I couldn’t leave without saying a big thank you to all the players that we have had the pleasure of working with over the past three years, just hope they enjoyed the experience as much as we did.
It was rewarding to see Ben Fishwick, Scott Harries, and Louis Mayers, talents recognized by clubs in higher leagues, and it was down to playing for Squires Gate.
The involvement in cups last year was exciting, just as this years results were disappointing.
But now it’s time for Squires Gate to move on, and we wish Gary with the help of Mark every success, and hope he can turn things around for the club and its supporters.
It is a well-run club, with Stuart and the committee, devoted to bringing success. He has given me his full support from the day I took over, and I couldn’t have asked for more.
It is hard to find words to say how much we appreciated all the hard workdone by Brian Addison, who is worth his weight in gold, Every game he provides a pitch with a first class playing surface, as good as any in non league, and beyond. He and his band of helpers, Peter Bryant, Steve Bellamy, Tony Hornby, Micky Farrar, Danny Braid, Steve McLellan, and William Hart always make sure nothing is left to chance,
John Maguire, is like stick of Blackpool rock he has Squires Gate written through his body, He never complains, or questions anything he just gets on with it, his enthusiasm is infectious, and he lights up the dressing room, with his encouragement.
All the hard working volunteers, Christine, Denise, Nigel and Stuart, make the clubhouse, welcoming to visitors as well as regulars.
No club can manage without welcoming faces, and Squires Gate is lucky to have its share, Aimee Cooper is the pretty face at the entrance, and June Hugill along with Neil Ainsworth, do a good job showing hospitality to visiting official.
Finally the lads that deal with exposure… Dan Braid, with his video and match reports, and Steve McLellan, and Albert who got us in focus with photographs appearing in the Blackpool Gazette, along with programme and Web Site.
It all contributes to the team on and off the pitch.
We wish Squires Gate, every success in the future and we will be dropping in to show our support in the near future
Russ and Nigel
