SUBS: Kay, Yelegon, Mekkaoui-Abouzaid, Cliffe, Ball
Squires Gate returned to The Brian Addison Stadium yesterday, hosting Wythenshawe Town who had a 100% record in the league so far.
Gary Pett, Dan Gray, Chris Webster and new signing Harrison Webster all came into the starting eleven, replacing Theo Ball, Nathan Cliffe, Saad Mekkaoui-Abouzaid and Alex Welsh.
It was the visitors who started on top, with three opportunities inside the first ten minutes. Firstly a half chance was volleyed well over from the edge of the box, before Aaron Dwyer was denied by Nathan Pennington after being found from a cross from the right.
Wythenshawe went even closer on eight minutes, with a goal bound header from a corner cleared off the line at the back post by James Hughes.
The visitors took a deserved lead on 20 minutes. A ball over the top was poked past Pennington, with Brad Byrne bundling it in on the line.
Gate responded well, with James Boyd going close to an equaliser on two occasions. Firstly an effort from distance deflected agonisingly wide, before the following corner fell to Boyd on the edge of the box who had a powerful effort brilliantly blocked.
Pennington produced a brilliant point blank save to keep out a header from Dwyer, before Josh Westwood levelled the score on 40 minutes at the other end. An initial free kick from Ryan Riley was cleared, but Riley hooked the ball back towards the box, with Pett flicking the ball in behind for Westwood who looked the volley smartly over the goalkeeper.

Gate keeper Pennington continued his solid half, making two more good saves to keep the score level.
He had no chance though on 53 minutes, with a volley from distance by Matty Bryan flying incredibly into the top corner to put Wythenshawe back in front.
Boyd missed a great chance to level up the game just three minutes later, missing his volley from close range after good work down the right by Hughes.
Theo Ball and Nathan Cliffe were introduced on 65 minutes, with Cliffe having a powerful effort well blocked eight minutes later.
Pennington continued to make numerous point blank saves, somehow keeping the score at 2-1 going into the closing stages of the game.
He again had no chance though on 88 minutes, with a corner headed into the top corner from six yards out to seal the win for Wythenshawe.
