Stafford u15s played at Sutton Coldfield for the first time in a few seasons knowing that they had never beaten the opposition before. The weight of history obviously played its part in the result as Stafford never really got going in the game which was a very stop start first half due to a lot of technical penalties conceded by the Stafford side. Stafford conceded 3 tries before half time and a further 4 in the second half before eventually turning a short spell of pressure into a try of their own scored from short range by Dylan Wilde. The final score being a very disappointing 44 – 5 to Sutton Coldfield.

It was an uncharacteristic display from the Stafford side who narrowly lost to a good Walsall team last time out. However, the team spirit was still on a high after the game and the improvement in tackling across the whole team was remarked upon several times by the watching supporters (parents). So there are lots of things to work on in training over the coming weeks and maybe the move to the new facilities will inspire the boys next week against Ashbourne.
