An excellent team performance saw our under 10s win again, this time away at Whitely Village.
Batting first a solid start from Ethan M and Neil was followed by some fireworks from Nixon and Tommy although some good WVCC bowling meant the loss of 3 wickets after 8 overs. George and Leo gave everyone a lesson in running between the wickets. Samir and Ethan couldnt quite match last weeks heroics but still chalked up some decent runs before Henry and Wilf once again finished the innings off to a decent net score of 287 over our 20 overs (4 wickets down). On a damp pitch this always looked competitive but a solid start by WV had them well placed at +237 after 6 overs. Excellent all round fielding from Staines and Laleham got us back into the game, a superb caught and bowled by Tommy sparked some of the best catching of the season with Henry then Neil both holding onto screamers, Ethan also took a sharp chance off Tommy behind the sticks. Staines turned the screw and despite a valiant WV effort we always looked in control as we entered the final 8 overs. Samir put the cherry on the cake with two wickets in two balls in his final over only to drop a tough caught and bowled chance for what would have been a great hat-trick. Wickets, runs, run outs and catches all round and one of the best wicket celebrations of the season from Neil. Well done lads!
