This Saturday both senior teams are back at Boggymead for a home double header, the 1st XV taking on Finsbury Park and the 2nd XV hosting Shelford.

Last weekend the 1st XV bounced back with a bonus point win on the road at Royston, this week they will aim to get their first home win of the season when they take on a Finsbury Park side who they beat in both fixtures last year. In the corresponding game last season Saints edged a close match 11-10 in wet and windy conditions whilst the away game was also played at Boggymead due to issues with the pitches in North London, Saints running out comprehensive winners 35-5. Finsbury Park have had a difficult start to the season with their first four games against the current top four in the league including three of the promoted clubs, however, this will be a tough fixture for the Blue and Gold as the visitors look to get their first win and start to climb the table.

The 2nd XV will play their first home fixture of this season (following the withdrawal of Bishops Stortford from the game scheduled a fortnight ago) as they take on Shelford for a first competitive fixture between the two sides in the merit leagues. Both teams have had a difficult start and will be looking to get a win on the board as we begin a very busy October schedule. The team will be boosted by the return of a number of players this week including captain Harry Trude who will no doubt be keen to lead his team to victory. The senior fixtures for this weekend are as follows:

Saturday 01/10/22
1st XV vs Finsbury Park - Boggymead AL4 0HR
2nd XV vs Shelford 4s - Boggymead AL4 0HR

Both games kick off at 3pm (BST), all support welcome. We look forward to seeing you at the club this weekend.

Sunday 02/10/22

This Sunday the mini and junior section play their first fixtures of the season as they head to Barnet Elizabethans Rugby Club for a festival tournament against other clubs from Hertfordshire. It will be fantastic to see all age groups from under 6 to under 12 take to the field, we hope to see as many people in attendance as possible to support the new generation of the club.
