This Saturday the 1st XV host Barnet Elizabethans for the first Troll Chalice Cup match of the season.
When the two sides met last season Barnet were victorious to keep the trophy in North London, whilst Saints last victory came in February 2023. The team will be looking to reclaim the Cup and build on last Saturday's performance that saw them win their league opener against UCS.
The Troll Chalice Cup is named in honour of the late Mark Trude who represented both clubs during his rugby career as both a player and a coach. Mark passed away in 2019 and the two clubs have played for the trophy in his name ever since. Mark's memory lives on through his sons Harry and George who continue to play for the club, Harry is currently an assistant coach as well.
Please come down and support the team. Running order for Saturday:
12:30 pm – Clubhouse & Bar open for pre-lunch drinks
1:00 pm – Pre-match Lunch
3:00 pm – 1st XV vs Barnet Elizabethans (H) - Boggymead, AL4 0HR
Good luck to all players.
